SUPPORT ONE
PROJECT
Anybody wishing to support
one project can wonder what are his funds used
for in the end. We believe this wonder is
legitimate and we have developed for this reason
a system of project
sponsoring. In this system,
your funds will be
allocated to the project of your choice.
First, you are sure of your donation's allocation,
but also you become an actor in the Nangal
project: by chosing a project
depending on its relevance, or on its linkage
to your own vision of solidarity, you allow
us to develop more in depth the contents
and the structure of this project.
Here are the projects we propose you to sponsor:
>
Tuitions
>
Interculturel exchanges
>
Pedagogical activities and summer camp
>
Trainings of our pedagocial team
We strive to work in total
transparency : you are welcome to ask us about
our activities fundings, and this especially
concerning the project you will choose to
sponsor.

TUITIONS
The tuitions project comes
first when considering IDES fundings allocation,
essentially because it concerns around 200
children, depending on the year’s
period, but also becase it is the first
project we have developed. The tuitions
are led by a pedagogical team of 6 to 8
Indian teachers each evening between 5.00
pm and 7.30 pm, and involve children between
7 and 16 years old (standards 4th to 12th).
They follow the governmental syllabus, but
bring to the children a more practical understanding
of what they have learnt during the day.
|
Why supporting this project?
More means would help us to hire more teachers
and to offer better learning conditions
to the children. Especially, more “specific
classes” for children who have big
difficulties in fondamentals -such as reading
and writing, maths...-would be organized.

INTERCULTURAL EXCHANGES
This project is now becoming
one of the organization’s priorities.
We indeed believe in a Solidariy which goes
beyond the simple frame « nothern
donators » / « southern beneficiaries».
According to us, International Solidarity
should be based on exchanges as well as
mutual understanding values. This is why
we have been organizing, since the beginning
of 2006, exchanges between groups of children
from a French school and Thazhanguda children.
Those exhanges are based on sequences during
which the children are asked to lead a reflexion
on specific themas (environment, local economy,
festivities...) and to produce a workshop
which will be send to the other group. |
Why supporting this project?
By supporting this project, you allow us
to extend this exchange to other children
from different French and Indian schools
(post fees, material expenses for the workshops,
computers acquisition in order to develop
e-mail exchanges...). We also wish to develop
and extend this project to two new partnerships,
especially with the “Youth Regional
Concil”of Bourgogne in France, but
also with Mali in Africa.

PEDAGOGICAL
ACTIVITIES AND SUMMER CAMPS
We believe that the knowledge
gained by the children during academic times
becomes really interesting for them as soon
as they get opportnities to apply and implement
this knowledge out of school. The organization
of pedagogical activities thus answers to
a double objective:
1) Offering to the Thazhanguda children
specific leisure and funny moments, knowing
that those children do not benefit from
occidental leisure facilities.
2) Provide Thazhanguda children with concrete
and practical fields of implementation for
the knowledge they get at school,-which
means also motivate them to study when they
are at school! – and transmit them
sharing, solidarity and group spirit values.
Pursuing the same goals and values, summer
camps are organized during holidays –May
month in Tamil Nadu. During this time broader
actvities, such as media workshop, drama,
street and fine arts...are developed with
the help of professionals.
|
Why supporting this project?
Supporting this project would permit us
to raise the quality of our activities by
developing partnerships with professionals
of children animation and by purchasing
more specific pedagogic material (pedagogical
and sport material, cameras for media workshop,
games, books, ...). We particularly would
like to continue some of the summer camp
activities during the year in order to strenghen
the children competencies in those fields.

TRAININGS OF OUR PEDAGOGICAL TEAM
Education is seen and developed
in India in an inflexible way, with very
few exchanges between teachers and children.
On the contrary, we aim at promoting with
our French and Indian partners values linked
to education for all, as well as to child-centered
education which takes into account children’s
aspiration and interests. Willing to integrate
in a more systematic way this approach to
our activities, we will dedicate the two
coming years to the training of our Indian
team. The final goal of those trainings
is that some of them are able to become
trainers themselves and thus promote those
values in other child centers and schools
in Tamil Nadu.
|
Why supporting this project?
Supporting this project is giving us the
possibility to develop our vision of education,
to offer to Indian children a chance to
learn in an adapted and child-friendly environment
where they occupy a central place, in non
governmental as well as in governmental
organizations.
