The projects supported by IDES are mostly, so far, being
implemented in Thazhanguda and coordinated by IDES volunteers.
Thazhanguada is a south Indian (Tamil Nadu) fishermen
village that has been severily affected by the December
2004 tsunami. We have developed there our Education
projects since March 2005. In order to ensure the
long term sustainability of these projects, we have
co-created with a local Trust (Sangati)
a unit named "Nangal"
("together" in Tamil) who legally take
in charge these projects.

You will find in these pages a
description of the context in which we have created our
projects. These projects are dividided in two categories:
> "Formal
Education" projects (which follow the governement Education scheme)
> "Alternative
Education" projects (pedagogical activities).
The last section tackles the projects we want to develop in the future, among which
the construction of a proper Education Center in Thazhanguda. |
